At First UCC Milford, we believe music is a gift meant to be shared at every stage of life. From our youngest children discovering rhythm and song, to teens honing their skills and playing together in a band, music helps us connect more deeply with God and with one another.

Our children and youth ensembles not only build musical skills, but also foster friendship, teamwork, and confidence. Whether it’s the joyful sound of little voices in the Youth Choir or the energy of teens playing in the Youth Band, these groups remind us that worship is richer when everyone has a part in making it.

Youth Choir (Pre-K–8th Grade)

The Youth Choir provides an opportunity for children to explore music in a joyful and supportive environment. Rehearsals include singing, rhythm work, and musical games designed to develop healthy vocal habits and a love of worship through song.
The group meets twice a month for focused rehearsals that combine learning, faith formation, and fellowship. Participation helps children grow as musicians and young leaders within the church community. Light refreshments are provided following the rehearsal.

Rehearsals: 1st & 3rd Sundays, 11:20 AM–12:20 PM (after 10 AM worship)

Youth Band (8th–12th Grade)

The Youth Band welcomes instrumentalists in grades 8–12 who wish to grow in their musical abilities and faith through ensemble playing. Members collaborate to prepare music for worship and other church events in a relaxed and encouraging setting.
The group works with a variety of instruments, including band, string, and rhythm instruments, and music is selected according to the skill level and interest of the participants. Prior instrumental experience is recommended.

Rehearsals: 2nd & 4th Sundays, 11:20 AM–12:20 PM (after 10 AM worship)

High School Vocal Group (Coming Soon)

A new vocal ensemble for high school students is currently being developed. This small group will focus on contemporary styles such as pop, gospel, and praise music, offering opportunities for expressive singing and creative collaboration in worship.
