At First UCC Milford, we believe music is a gift meant to be shared at every stage of life. From our youngest children discovering rhythm and song, to teens honing their skills and playing together in a band, music helps us connect more deeply with God and with one another.

Our children and youth ensembles not only build musical skills, but also foster friendship, teamwork, and confidence. Whether it’s the joyful sounds of little voices in the Cherub Choir or the energy of teens playing in the Youth Band, these groups remind us that worship is richer when everyone has a part in making it.

Cherub Choir

The Cherub Choir introduces children age 7 and under to the joy of music. In a playful and nurturing environment, children sing, explore rhythm with small percussion instruments, and prepare to take part in select services throughout the church year. This is a wonderful first step in helping our youngest members discover the gift of music in worship.

Rehearsals: Sundays after worship, 11:00–11:15 am in Classroom A

Youth Band

The Youth Band is open to high school and early college students who want to make music together in a fun, supportive setting. Players of all levels — from beginners to advanced — are welcome. The group plays a mix of band and string instruments, with space for drums and other rhythm instruments as well. Music is tailored to the abilities of the group, creating an enriching experience where teens can grow as musicians and contribute to worship at First Church.

Rehearsals: Every other Sunday, 11:15 am–12:00 pm in the Choir Room
