At First UCC of Milford, outreach is central to our mission. The Christian Outreach Committee, a group of lay leaders elected by the congregation and supported by many volunteers, helps us extend God’s love in tangible ways—locally, nationally, and globally.

Our ministries include a Food Pantry serving dozens of families each month, holiday food baskets, and emergency assistance offered in partnership with local agencies. Volunteers also prepare and serve meals at the Beth-El Center, Milford’s shelter and resource hub for those facing hunger and homelessness. One of our most visible efforts is Milford Food 2 Kids, which partners with local schools to provide weekend food bags for more than 200 children each week.

The committee also guides our church’s response to global needs, from natural disasters to humanitarian crises, working through the United Church of Christ and Church World Service. In addition, we allocate financial support to organizations such as Bridges Healthcare, the Milford Rape Crisis Center, Christian Community Action, Loaves & Fishes, and Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS).

Each year, our Time to Share: Give the Gift of Good Works campaign provides an opportunity for the congregation to support both longstanding and emerging ministries. In all of this, we live out Christ’s call to feed the hungry, care for the vulnerable, and embody God’s love in action.
