The Deacons, also known as the Diaconate, serve at the heart of our church’s worship and spiritual life. Working closely with our pastors, the Deacons help nurture a community where God’s love is experienced through prayer, care, and welcome. Their ministry combines both practical service and deep spiritual commitment.

Caring Ministries

The Deacons organize ministries of compassion that extend the church’s love beyond the sanctuary. These include visits to members who are homebound, hospitalized, or living in nursing facilities, as well as the delivery of flowers as a reminder that they remain connected to the congregation. Through these simple acts of kindness, the Deacons embody Christ’s call to care for one another.

Membership and Connection

Part of the Deacons’ responsibility is to maintain the official membership rolls of the church. They work to stay in touch with members and friends, encouraging participation in the life of the congregation and ensuring that records are accurate. Members are invited to keep the church office informed of address changes or transfers so that the community can remain connected and supportive.

Worship Leadership

The Deacons play a vital role in worship each week. They attend to the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism, assisting pastors in preparing and serving these sacred moments in our life together. They also coordinate ushers and greeters, ensuring that worship services are welcoming, orderly, and hospitable for all who come through our doors.

A Ministry of Presence

At its core, the Diaconate is a ministry of presence—being attentive to the spiritual needs of the congregation, helping to create meaningful worship, and offering care in times of need. The Deacons are not only organizers of important tasks but also spiritual leaders who model love, service, and faithfulness.
