Emma Davis Medical Equipment Ministry

The Emma Davis Medical Equipment Ministry is a medical equipment clearinghouse that has offered compassionate service in the region for several decades.

Emma Davis was a member of the Church who spent a lifetime reaching out to the needy in Milford.  When Emma died in 1968, the Deacons were led by the Holy Spirit to continue part of her ministry.  Ever since, members of First Church have been gathering used medical equipment - wheelchairs, walkers, etc. - repairing the equipment and making it available free of charge all over the state.  In 2005, the Medical Equipment Ministry was shifted from the auspices of the Deacons to those of Christian Outreach.

The Medical Equipment Ministry is now run by over a dozen volunteers who share in maintenance, record-keeping and client service responsibilities.  In 2018, the ministry gave out over 500 pieces of medical equipment including walkers and wheelchairs.  Medical equipment inquiries can be made by calling the Church at (203) 877-4277 and entering extension 100, the Emma Davis extension. You will be asked to leave a message, and a volunteer will return your call within 24 hours.

The Emma Davis Medical Ministry is lending and taking returns of medical equipment by appointment only. Equipment must be in good working order and thoroughly cleaned to be accepted. To make an appointment, please call 203-877-4277, extension 100, and leave a message.  A volunteer will return your call within 24 hours.

Please Note: You must call 203-877-4277 to make an appointment to meet with a volunteer before coming to borrow or drop-off medical equipment as the sheds are not staffed and there is no one at the church who is able to help you. The pick-up/drop-off location is 46 West Main St. (for GPS purposes).

Please see maps & directions to locate the church if you are coming to pick up or drop off medical equipment.
