CALL TO THE ANNUAL MEETING— January 26, 2020
The 94th Annual Meeting in the 381st year of the founding of the First United Church of Christ, Congregational, in Milford, Connecticut, will be convened in the Sanctuary on Sunday, January 26, 2020, following the 10:00 a.m. morning worship         service to act on the following items of business:
1. To receive the Annual Reports of Ministers, Officers, Ministries, Committees, and Organizations of the Church;
2. To adopt a budget for 2020;
3. To elect officers and committee members for 2020;
4. To consider any other business that may properly come before this meeting.

Annual Meeting Childcare                                                                                                                                                                        Youth ages 5 and younger are invited to the Nursery during the Annual Meeting to play. Youth ages 6—7th grade are invited to   watch a movie in Classroom A. Please note (in particular for older youth) that once they are in the room they must remain until they are signed out by a parent or guardian. All youth must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian. Please make sure your child has had lunch or has snacks with them!

Transformational Leadership: Public Conversation with Rick Steves
Event time: Friday, January 31, 2020 - 7:30pm to 8:30 pm
Location: 409 Prospect Street, New Haven, CT 06511
Event Description: Rick Steves will talk about the goal of making travel transformational, moving beyond ethnocentrism to engage global issues of poverty and wealth and lead people beyond their comfort zones and into places of religious pilgrimage and even places that have suffered warfare and violence.
Speak with Rev. Ashley if you are interested in attending.
Meet at the church parking lot at 6 PM to carpool.

First Church 101 (New Members' Class)
Saturday, February 8th, 9:30-11:15 a.m., Church Library
This session is intended for people to learn about the church's history and faith from Rev. Adam and a few church leaders.  After attending you may decide to officially join the church! Childcare is available and a free sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich will be provided.  Sign up in Fellowship Hall or by calling the church office (203.877.4277).

A Service of Installation for The Rev Dr. Heather Arcovitch takes place on February 2nd at the North Madison Congregational Church, UCC at 2 PM.  Speak to Rev. Ashley about carpooling.

Broadway Themed Concert and Pasta Dinner!
Feb. 8th, Concert: 4pm; Dinner: 5:15pm
Join us for our Second Annual Variety Show and Pasta Dinner on Saturday Feb. 8th. Music Ministry will host an exciting concert of    Broadway favorites, followed by a Pasta Bar dinner hosted by the Men's Ministry.  Tickets are: $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and
kids for each event separately, and $18 for adults and $12 for seniors and kids for a combo ticket.  All proceeds to benefit church and
community causes.  Don't miss this exciting event!

Souper Bowl of Caring — Pre-order delicious soup by the quart online or at Coffee Hour. Pick up on Feb. 2 in the Fellowship Hall
between services or after 10:00 AM worship.  Your support will benefit Beth El Center Meals.

Can and Bottle Drive — Sat. February 8th from 9:30 -11:30 AM. Drop off any redeemable cans and bottles in the parking lot.

Blood Drive — Mon. February 17th - Fellowship Hall. Sign up online!  Or visit us during Coffee Hour to sign up.  Thanks for supporting this effort to support others.

Recurring Events

Women's Fellowship—We meet in the Fellowship Hall on most Wednesday mornings at 10 AM.

Meditation—Join us on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary for an evening of Meditation. If you have any questions about the evening, please talk with Will Osanitsch. All are welcome whether you are new to meditation or experienced in the practice!

Bibles & Brews—Meets first Tuesday of the month to dive into Bible Study and the seeming contradictions present in the Bible.

Men's Ministry—Men of God in Fellowship, sharing their faith journeys, providing witness and service to the church and community, meet the first and third Saturday morning of the month. For more information contact Barry Kresen at bgkresen@aol.com.
