Upcoming Events

Special Guest Preacher: Rev. Evalyn Wakhusama of Kenya - On Sunday October 13th Rev. Evalyn Wakhusama will preach at our worship services. Rev. Wakhusama is the founder of the Nambale Magnet School in Kenya, dedicated to helping children who are impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic to get quality education and be future community leaders. Wakhusama is only the second female to be ordained in the Anglican Church in Kenya. She received the Lux et Veritas award from Yale Divinity School in 2011 related to her inspiring work. Revs. Adam and Ashley were classmates of Rev. Wakhusama at Yale Divinity School and are thrilled that the Deacons, Open & Affiming, and Outreach ministries have invited her to preach about how God connects her ministry with ours. Please join us for this special worship service. 

Bridges Step Forward Memorial Walk: Sunday, September 15
The Open & Affirming Committee will 'worship with our feet' at the Bridges Step Forward Walk to honor lives lost to addiction, suicide, and mental health issues. The team will be commissioned at the 8 AM service and proceed to Fowler Field. Sign up at bridgesct.org with "First Church" as your team or speak with Jamie Rude to sponsor.

New Haven Pride March:Saturday, September 21, 2019 – New Haven Green - The Open & Affirming Ministry invites you to walk with us in the 2019 New Haven Pride March. Registration begins at 1:00pm at 165 Church Street, March begins at 1:30pm.  We will be carrying the First Church Open and Affirming Banner we marched behind at Stonewall 50 World Pride in New York City this past June and we will be joining in the festivities in downtown New Haven after the march!  If you would like to walk with us, or for more information ... The Milford Mayoral Debate will be held September 17. Incumbent Mayor Ben Blake (D) and Alderman Dan German (R) will present their platforms in the event sponsored by the Plymouth Men's Club, 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary.
