Commemorating Stonewall – Celebrating 50 Years of Pride

Friday, June 28th - First Church hosted a wonderful special worship service this evening commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, and celebrating the birth of the Pride movement they inspired.

Joined by members of Woodmont UCC, Mary Taylor UMC and Milford Pride, the festive service included moving hyms such as For All the Children, Singing for our Lives, as well as a "fuller version" oF In the Midst of New Dimensions.

Rev. Adam welcomed the congregation, whicn included Milford's State Senator, James Maroney as well as Judge Beverly Streit-Kefalas

Seminarian Tammy Thies-Satterlee preached a moving Reflection. The service also featured a variety of prayers, a moving "rainbow litany" and a commissioning of those participating in the Stonewall 50 March on Sunday in New York City.

A reception followed in fellowship hall. Special thanks to all who participated!
