Music at First Church

Music is a central part of worship and community at First UCC Milford!

We are united by our common goal to uphold the mission and vision of First Church as well as the Mission of the First Church Music Ministry which states:

"At First United Church of Christ (Congregational) of Milford, we strive to create and sustain a music ministry that provides its diverse congregation and the wider community with a variety of opportunities to praise and serve God through participation in and appreciation of great music."

The Music Ministry offers many opportunities to praise God through music including music in worship, concert experiences within and outside our walls, support of outreach initiatives to reach out to the community, and so much more. The core of our program is our ensemble program, which contains six music ensembles that offer music training and performance opportunities of the highest caliber to children, other youth, and adults of all ages, in a supportive and joyful environment. Prior experience, including the ability to read music, is not required to join any of our ensembles and all are welcome to attend any rehearsal at any point during the year. Membership in the Choirs is open to those who enjoy music, and while we are best when everyone can attend all rehearsals and performances, we work to be flexible, open, and affirming to all who wish to be a part of music here.
