2004 Mission Trip

Orland, Maine (H.O.M.E., Inc.)—23 youth, 7 advisors
We served at H.O.M.E., Inc., a Catholic mission site for people in need in central coastal Maine.  Although we had "rustic" accommodations and some tasks weren't that exciting, most of us had a powerful experience.  This was the first trip where teams of youth and adults led worship and served a meal.  Projects included working on a small farm; sheetrock work in new affordable housing; working in a shingle mill; making picnic tables; organizing a food pantry; and scraping/painting buildings on site.  On the way back home, we got lost in Kennebunkport, Maine (thanks to Rev. Adam!).
